Saudi Arabia scores world record bid for 2034 FIFA World Cup
November 30, Kathmandu: Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup has received a historic score of 419.8 out of 500, the highest ever in FIFA World Cup bidding history. This announcement comes just weeks before the official awarding of the 2030 and 2034 World Cup hosts on December 11, 2024.
The bid, backed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, reflects the nation’s ambition to grow football and provide a world-class tournament experience, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi Arabia has proposed 15 stadiums in five host cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM, along with 10 additional host locations.
Saudi Arabia aims to host the first 48-team World Cup in a single country, showcasing its rich culture, modern infrastructure, and commitment to sustainable practices. This bid aligns with Vision 2030’s goals of building a vibrant society and improving the quality of life for citizens and visitors.
