Rup Chandra Bista remembered on his memorial day

June 22, Kathmandu: The 24th Memorial Day of Rup Chandra Bista, the proponent of Thaha Philosophy and widely known as Rudane, was commemorated on Thursday through various organized programs. The Rup Chandra Bista Memorial Committee Nepal and Makawanpure Samaj Nepal arranged a talk program to discuss Bista’s invaluable contributions to Nepal’s politics and social fabric.
During the event, distinguished figures such as Arjun Narsingh KC, Ram Narayan Bidari, as well as Hiranyalal Shrestha and Chiranjivi Khanal, among others, highlighted Bista’s enduring legacy as a champion of the people.
They emphasized that Bista would be forever remembered as a visionary politician who advocated for adopting a constitution through the Constituent Assembly, notably in 1980.
In accordance with the Thaha philosophy, the speakers recognized the fundamental importance of the public’s right to be informed about matters pertaining to their governance and the affairs of the state. This principle formed a vital aspect of Bista’s philosophy, resonating with the ethos of his visionary political stance.
