Business entities asked to provide festival allowance to employees

Kathmandu: The Department of Labour and Occupational Safety has asked business entities to compulsorily provide festival allowance to employees.

The Department issued a notice, drawing attention of businesses and industries to ensure the festival allowance equal to one month’s basic salary as per Section 37 of Labour Act, 2074.

The business houses are reminded that one month’s basic salary is provided to the employees every year for the celebration of religious, cultural and traditional festival.

Deputy Director General at the Department, Bipin Rajbhandari, issued a notice and directed the business entities on Thursday.
