Ticket booking opens for Dashain from October 9

Kathmandu: Ticket booking for passengers travelling home for this year’s Dashain will open on October 9.

A meeting held today between the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs and the Department of Transportation Management decided to this effect. Federation Chair Punya Prasad Sitaula and Department’s Director General Rajeev Pokharel represented their respective sides at the meeting.

Speaking after the meeting, Director General Pokharel said the Department is committed to making public transportation during Dashain safe, accessible, and well-managed.

During the festival especially in Dashain, there is a significant increase in the number of passengers travelling from Kathmandu Valley to their hometowns.

According to Pokharel, coordination among the bodies concerned including transport entrepreneurs is necessary to ensure that each aspiring passenger can get tickets conveniently and reach the destination safely and comfortably.
