Residents of riverbank areas being relocated

Nawalpur (Nawalparasi): Residents living along the banks of the Narayani River have been relocated to safer areas following flooding caused by incessant rainfall since last Thursday.

Mayor of Gaindakot Municipality, Madan Bhakta Adhikari, stated that residents living near the river have been moved to safer locations. Wards 2, 5, 6, 7, and 9 of Gaindakot fall within the riverbank zone.

Ward Chairperson of Gaindakot-2, Prakash Sapkota, reported that residents of the Gaindakot Pulchowk area have been moved to higher ground and that information is being disseminated via public communications systems along the riverbank.
