One killed, one injured after being hit by a falling rock

Karnali: A person was killed and another injured after a landslide struck a makeshift hut in Dolpa.

According to the District Police Office, Dolpa, Manrup KC, around 33 years of age was struck by a rock brought down by the landslide as he was inside a makeshift hut at Rawalwada in Pahadagaun of Tripurasundari municipality-7.

Office’s information officer and police inspector Padam Rawal said the incident occured at around 9:45 pm on Friday and KC died while being taken to the Likhu Health Post treatment.

Chandrarup KC, 38, sustained minor injuries to his back in the incident and was discharged after receiving treatment.

According to police, the incident site is about a four-hour journey from the district headquarters. Police came to know about it only on Saturday morning and subsequently rescued the injured man.
