Vehicular movement restricted on several highways over downpour warning

Kathmandu: The Nepal Police has announced restriction of vehicular movement on several highways during the night from September 25 to 27 owing to prediction of heavy rainfall across the country.

Earlier today, the Police Headquarters informed that travel on several highways, including the Prithvi Highway, would be restricted at night. In case of the Prithvi Highway, all kinds of vehicles will be prohibited from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am starting today.

The police have shared that in view of adversities caused by heavy rains in various parts of country, all vehicles except emergency ones and even pedestrians would not be allowed on the Siddhicharan Highway from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, beginning today. The rule applies till September 28.

The Kanti Highway in the Makawanpur district and the Bhaise-Bhimphedi and Deurali-Kulekhani sections leading to Kathmandu will be completely closed for travel from 7:00 pm onwards. The BP Highway will also remain closed from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am beginning today.
