20th Asian Games: Evana, Rubin win table tennis mix doubles

Kathmandu: Evana Thapa and Rubin Maharjan of Nepal have won Tuesday’s match in table tennis mixed doubles at the 20th Asian Games taking place in Aichi, Nagoya, Japan.

In the first-round match held at Sky Hall Toyota in Japan on Tuesday, Evana and Rubin defeated Muhammad Khan and Kalsum Khan of Pakistan by 3-0.

Nepal won the first set by 11-6, the second set by 11-8, and the third set by 11-4. The team of Evana and Rubin will now face the mixed doubles team of Hong Kong on Wednesday.

However, Samyog Kapali and Nabita Shrestha of Nepal were eliminated from the first round in the same category. RSS
