UAE AID to support 10 million US dollars to Nepal

Kathmandu: The government of the United Arab Emirates is to provide financial aid of 10 million US dollar for the rescue and relief operations being carried out following the Bhotekoshi flash floods in Nepal.

During a meeting with Chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Dr Dharma Raj Upreti, today, a delegation of the UAE Aid shared that other necessary supplies and essentials will also be provided as needed for the flood-affected areas, according to the Authority.

On the occasion, CEO Upreti briefed the delegation that temporary bridges, tents, chargeable portable lights, solar panels, satellite phone are needed.

The delegation led by International Assistance Director at UAE Aid, Dr Ahmed Al Mansoori, comprised stabilization Specialist, Humanitarian Response Coordinator, among others.

The UAE was one of the first governments of friendly countries to announce substantial financial aid to help Nepal’s Bhotekoshi flood survivors and the post-disaster reconstruction process.
