Rasuwa’s road connection restored

Kathmandu: Rasuwa, a district in the north-central part of Bagmati Province, has been connected by road.

The road to Rasuwa district, which was ripped apart by the catastrophic Bhotekoshi flash flood, has been restored from Bogatitar to Kalikasthan to Dhunche.

The route operates through Kathmandu-Tokha-Chhahare-Gadkhar Bridge-APPRA-Narja-Lachyang-Sarmathali-Patikharka. Rasuwa district had lost its linkage with the national road connectivity following the August 26 devastating flash flood.

The damaged roadways were repaired, and other hurdles were cleared, thereby making it viable for the operation of light four-wheelers.

The Road Department said efforts were underway to further enhance the capacity of the roadways. The resumption of vehicular movement is expected to facilitate the transportation of essential goods and speed up rescue and relief work in the district.

The government has prioritized efforts to restore the damaged road structures while taking necessary precautions in vulnerable and high-risk areas.

The Department warned that although vehicular movement to Rasuwa was resumed, the risk remains in several sections.

It has urged traffic operators to exercise caution and take necessary safety measures while travelling through the affected areas. RSS
