45 pythons rescued in Chitwan last year
Chitwan: The Division Forest Office here rescued as many as 69 wildlife- animals, birds and reptiles- in the last fiscal year. Among the animals, birds and reptiles rescued in a year, pythons counted most, 45.
The wildlife were rescued from various places and released near their habitats.
Office chief Bishnu Prasad Acharya informed that 45 pythons which entered nearby human settlements and panicked people were taken under control and managed to safety by releasing to the forest.
Other animals found stranded and managed by the Office were crocodile, monkey, leopard, tortoise, stag, spotted deer and barking deer. Even birds like peacock and owl were rescued by the authority.
The Office also found 42 wild animals dead last year. Among these, highest were spotted deer, 32, followed by barking deer, nine. RSS
