Devotees Throng Pashupatinath, Shiva Temples on Final Monday of Shrawan

Kathmandu, Aug 10: Large numbers of devotees have gathered at the Pashupatinath Temple and other Shiva temples across the country on the final Monday of Shrawan.

Devotees began arriving at Pashupatinath from the early hours of Monday to offer special prayers and worship to Lord Shiva. The Mondays of Shrawan are considered particularly significant among devotees of Lord Shiva.

The Pashupati Area Development Trust said arrangements have been made to facilitate the smooth worship of devotees as well as Bol Bum pilgrims visiting the temple.

According to the Trust, security arrangements, volunteer mobilization, worship management, health camps and drinking-water facilities have been put in place to manage the large gathering.

Devotees have also been visiting other prominent Shiva temples across the country since early Monday morning. Large numbers have been seen taking holy dips and offering prayers at Gokarneshwor, Santaneshwor, Doleshwor, Kirateshwor, Bhaleshwor and Sanga in Kavrepalanchowk.

Similarly, devotees have gathered at Devghat in Tanahun and Galeshwor in Myagdi to mark the final Monday of Shrawan with religious rituals and prayers.
