19th Library Day to Be Observed Nationwide on August 31
Kathmandu, Aug 9: The 19th Library Day will be observed across the country on August 31 with various programmes aimed at promoting the importance and accessibility of libraries.
The main organizing committee for the annual event is being coordinated by Chudamani Paudel, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The theme for this year’s Library Day is “Children, youth and the elderly: Libraries are everyone’s destination.” The theme highlights the role of libraries as inclusive spaces that can serve people of all age groups.
Four thematic committees have been formed to manage different aspects of the celebration. The committees will oversee areas including honours and awards, publications, publicity and social activities.
Library Day programmes will be organized at provincial and local levels in coordination with educational institutions and library-related organizations.
Preparations are also underway to coordinate with the Offices of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in all seven provinces to ensure wider participation in the nationwide celebrations.
