Dr. Kadir Alam appointed chairperson of Nepal Pharmacy Council

August 5, Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has appointed Dr. Kadir Alam as the Chairperson of the Nepal Pharmacy Council.

Dr. Alam took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday in the presence of Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta. According to the Minister’s personal secretariat, Dr. Alam was selected for the leadership role following a competitive evaluation process among multiple applicants.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Minister Mehta instructed the newly appointed Chairperson to enhance the Council’s effectiveness, transparency, and accountability. She emphasized the need for active regulatory leadership to elevate standards across pharmaceutical services, pharmacy education, and professional governance while building public trust.
