Over 100 suspicious products seized

Kathmandu: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumers’ Protection has seized over 100 suspicious products.

A monitoring team mobilised by the Department confiscated various products being sold via online platforms and social networking sites. Massage oil, shampoo, tea and various food items were confiscated by the authority.

The Department will now conduct a test to determine whether the items are usable/salable or not. Quality and originality of these items will be tested.

Director General at the Department, Motiram Sapkota, informed that the Department took control of the items in a bid to curb sales and distribution of fake goods. He also urged everyone to inform the authority once they found any phoney products in the market.
