Chief Minister Yadav’s appeal to maintain peace and security

Janakpurdham: The government in Madhesh Province has urged all sides to exercise restraint for maintaining peace, social harmony and public security in the province.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of the province, Krishna Prasad Yadav, reviewed the present peace and security situation in the province and urged all sides to extend support in maintaining peace and security.

The government said its attention was drawn seriously towards the incidents relating to social, economic and public security in various districts across the province in recent days.

On Thursday, CM Yadav informed that the provincial government had decided to take necessary measures by keeping in mind the safety of citizens and their property, protection of public property and effective enforcement of law. He made it clear that the provincial government was committed to identifying and preventing potential security challenges by coordinating with security agencies, local levels and concerned bodies.

CM Yadav’s statement appealed to all political parties, organisations, religious leaders, intellectuals, teachers, students, civil society, media, private sector and all citizens to fulfil their respective responsibilities so that peace, social harmony, religious and cultural tolerance would be kept intact. He also urged everyone not to disseminate, publish or broadcast any information and materials that may spread rumours, confusion, violence or public disruption through social media, media or other means. All people in the province have also been requested to follow only the information issued by official agencies.

The government would provide necessary assistance for treating those injured in the recent incidents. CM Yadav also wished speedy recovery to the injured.

“The province government is fully committed to peace, security, good governance, the rule of law and the protection of the constitutional and legal rights of citizens,” the statement stressed.
