People requested to avoid unnecessary travel
Chitwan: The District Administration Office, Chitwan, has requested the people to avoid travel except in case of urgency, considering the risk of possible landslides and floods due to incessant rainfall.

The local administration requested all avoid unnecessary travel along the Narayangadh-Muglin section and Prithvi highway as landslides and flood might take place along these sections due to rainfall.
A notice issued by Assistant Chief District Officer, Chiranjivi Sharma, requested the general public to coordinate with nearby security bodies while travelling. They are also requested to coordinate with bodies concerned, like local governments and the division road office.
A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee held on Monday urged the passengers to adopt precaution, citing vehicular movement might be obstructed at different places of national highways, including the Narayangadh-Muglin section, due to landslides following incessant rainfall.
Various bodies, including security bodies, the road office, and the irrigation and water resources project, are requested to remain on standby with machinery and tools, shared Sharma. The Committee pointed out Tuin Khola and Seti Dobhan as high-risk areas of landslide.
The meeting also instructed to make vacant old holding centres used by the then District Development Committee and Nepal Red Cross Society since 2058 BS, considering the possible risk from monsoon-induced disaster.
It also asked to clean the holding centres and keep them on standby. The meeting also requested the people living in riverside areas to adopt high precautions.
