Two New Motorable Bridges Open in Gorkha, Completed Ahead of Schedule

Gorkha, July 11 — Two newly constructed concrete motorable bridges over the Chuktikhola and Ludikhola rivers were officially inaugurated in Gorkha district on Saturday, improving road connectivity in the area.

The bridges, built by the Infrastructure Development Office, were completed in less than a year despite contracts allowing up to two years for construction.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey praised contractors Rajendra Thapaliya and Milan Khadka for finishing the projects ahead of schedule, describing the timely completion as a positive example of efficient infrastructure development.

According to Santosh Aryal, chief of the Infrastructure Development Office, the bridge over the Ludikhola River was constructed at a cost of Rs 75.93 million, while the Chuktikhola Bridge was completed for Rs 35.83 million.

The newly inaugurated bridges are expected to improve transportation and ease travel for local residents, contributing to better connectivity and regional development in Gorkha.
