Chief Justice Sharma pledges action-oriented judicial reforms
Kathmandu: Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma has said that he will move ahead with a concrete action plan to strengthen public confidence in the judiciary.
During a meeting with officials of the Constitutional and Judicial Journalists Forum, Chief Justice Sharma said the judiciary reform plan would focus on changes that people can directly experience and feel.
He stated that he is committed to reforming the justice sector through action rather than words and has asked Supreme Court judges to identify priority areas for improvement.
Chief Justice Sharma also said that journalists have an important role in maintaining the dignity and credibility of the judiciary and expressed his expectation for both constructive and critical feedback.
On the occasion, Forum Chairperson Kalika Khadka said there is a strong public expectation for reforms that ensure access to justice for all.
Officials of the forum met Chief Justice Sharma at his office today to congratulate and extend their best wishes to him on his appointment.
