First Bus Reaches Dumling Village in Darchula’s Vyas Rural Municipality

Darchula, May 9: For the first time, a bus has reached Dumling village in Vyas Rural Municipality-2 of Darchula district, marking a major development in local transport access.

The bus arrived in Dumling from Tusarpani on Friday after the completion of a 12-kilometre section of the Tusarpani–Tinkar road, which is being constructed by the Nepali Army.

Residents expressed happiness as the vehicle reached the remote village for the first time. With the start of vehicular movement, people in the area expect easier access to essential goods and services.

The Nepali Army is currently constructing the 79-kilometre Tusarpani–Tinkar road section. So far, 22.15 kilometres of track have been opened, with 12 kilometres now accessible for vehicles. Work on the remaining sections is ongoing.

The Vyas area, located along the Nepal–China border, has long remained remote, forcing residents to travel on foot for basic transportation needs. Locals have expressed hope that the road will improve daily life and support economic activities.

Authorities said work on the road leading to the Tinkar entry point has been accelerated, with expectations that the project will have long-term impacts on trade, tourism and social development in the region.
