Light Rain with Thunder Likely in Several Provinces Today

Kathmandu, May 10: The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country today, with chances of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several areas.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the remaining provinces.

The department stated that the hilly and mountainous areas will witness generally cloudy conditions, while the Tarai region is expected to remain partly cloudy during the day.

Tonight, weather conditions are likely to remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with partly cloudy skies elsewhere.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has also forecast moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province. Light snowfall is also possible in some high-altitude areas. Similar weather activity may occur at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces, including parts of the Terai in Koshi Province.
