Vehicular movement disrupted at Katunje–Mangaltar section of BP Highway

Kavrepalanchowk, April 19: Vehicular movement along the Katunje–Mangaltar section of the BP Highway has been obstructed since Saturday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, the road section was blocked after continuous rainfall washed away temporary diversions constructed at several points along the route.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista said efforts are underway to repair the damaged diversions, but it will take some time before traffic can resume normally.

He added that rising water levels in the Roshi River following the rainfall contributed to the damage, washing away previously built diversion structures.

In the meantime, authorities have stopped vehicle movement at Kavrebhanjyang in Dhulikhel and Nepalthok in Sindhuli as a safety measure.

Police have urged travellers to avoid the BP Highway section until further notice.
