Nepal proposes collaboration for cross-border crimes control

Kathmandu: Nepal has made a proposal of cooperation with China for the control of cross-border crimes. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung proposed to the Ambassador of China to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, who paid a courtesy call on the minister earlier today.

In this connection, Ambassador Maoming expressed a positive response from the Chinese government about Nepal’s proposal to prevent cross-border crimes. He expressed commitment to cooperate in also capacitating Nepal’s security agencies, the Home Minister’s Secretariat stated.

In the meeting held at Singha Durbar, Home Minister Gurung called for a role in ensuring that projects operated with Chinese assistance in Nepal are completed on time. He also requested the construction of a trans-border railway linking Nepal and China and the facilitation of bilateral trade, as noted in a press release by the Home Minister’s Secretariat.

Home Minister Gurung reiterated Nepal’s commitment to a One-China policy and made it clear that no anti-China activities would be allowed on Nepali soil.
