Foreign Affairs Ministry presents diplomatic code of conduct to ministers

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has presented the ‘Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Code of Conduct’ to ministers of the government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

According to the Prime Minister’s press expert Deepa Dahal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai delivered the presentation at a programme held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today.

The presentation covered the global context, Nepal’s international relations, promotion of national interests, and key aspects of the country’s foreign policy.

Secretary Rai also briefed ministers on diplomatic procedures, boundaries, and etiquette to be observed while handling foreign affairs.

He emphasised Nepal’s foreign policy priorities, the importance of maintaining balanced relations, and the technical aspects of diplomatic conduct.

Ministers were further oriented on general etiquette and the mandatory observance of diplomatic norms during meetings with foreign officials.
