Both Houses of Federal Parliament Scheduled to Hold Meeting Today

Kathmandu, April 5: Both chambers of the Federal Parliament of Nepal are scheduled to meet at Singha Durbar today.

The House of Representatives will convene at 11:00 am at the multipurpose hall of the under-construction Federal Parliament Building. The main agenda includes tabling a proposal to elect Dol Prasad Aryal as Speaker. Aryal, who is also Vice-President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has already been elected unopposed.

The National Assembly is set to meet at 12:15 pm at Singha Durbar. During the session, the Chair will nominate and reshuffle members of various thematic committees, as well as designate members to preside over meetings in the absence of the Chair and Vice-Chair.

As per the agenda, Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to present the annual report of the Women’s Commission for the fiscal year 2081/82, according to Padma Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
