All-party meeting being today held to prepare for Parliament session
An all-party meeting of parties represented in the House of Representatives is being held to prepare for the upcoming Parliament session.
The meeting, called by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, will be held at Singha Durbar at 2 pm today.
Six parties represented in the House are taking part, including the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Shram Shraskriti Party.
The discussion will focus on the conduct of the session, its agenda and the process of electing the Speaker, following the session call by President Ram Chandra Paudel for Thursday.
Senior-most lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC is chairing the House until a Speaker is elected, and has already administered the oath to members.
