Saudi Ambassador calls on Vice President, emphasises strong Nepal–Saudi ties

Kathmandu: The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nepal, Fahd bin Mnikhr, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav on Wednesday at the Vice President’s Office in Lainchaur.
During the meeting, Vice President Yadav congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and highlighted that Nepal–Saudi relations, established in 1977, have remained rooted in friendship, goodwill, and mutual cooperation.
He stressed the need for high-level exchanges to further strengthen ties, recalling the recent visit of Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to Nepal.
Highlighting the importance of Saudi Arabia as a key destination for Nepali migrant workers, Yadav expressed confidence in continued cooperation for the protection of their rights. He also noted that the bilateral labour agreement signed on January 25, 2026, would further strengthen labour cooperation.
The Vice President underscored opportunities for expanding economic collaboration, particularly in infrastructure, energy, tourism, and agriculture, while also pointing to Nepal’s potential as an attractive destination for Saudi tourists.
Ambassador Mnikhr, in response, expressed Saudi Arabia’s willingness to enhance cooperation with Nepal, especially in the economic sector, and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations during his tenure.
