Saudi Arabia welcomes UN Human Rights Council Resolution on Iran

March 26, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the unanimous adoption of a resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council on the human rights implications of recent Iranian attacks in the Gulf region.
In a statement issued on 25 March 2026, Saudi Arabia said the resolution reflects a unified international stance against what it described as “unprovoked Iranian attacks” targeting not only the Kingdom but also Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
The Kingdom noted that the resolution, adopted during the Council’s 61st session, signals strong global condemnation of these actions as serious violations of human rights.
Riyadh further stated that the attacks constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law. It added that targeting countries not directly involved in the conflict amounts to unjustifiable aggression.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its strong condemnation of Iran’s actions and called for accountability under international law.
