Four People Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Doti, Jhapa, and Parbat

Kathmandu, March 24: Four people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Doti, Jhapa, and Parbat districts, according to reports from local correspondents.

In Doti, two youths—22-year-old Subodh Rokaya and 19-year-old Kailash BK from Adharsha Rural Municipality—died after the jeep they were travelling in skidded off the road late last night. District Police Office, Doti, Information Officer Nabraj Dhungel said the vehicle (Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Cha 3923) went off near Sailikhola, about 900 meters down the road, after the driver lost control.

In Jhapa, 50-year-old motorcyclist Sukdev Ganesh died after a van collided with his motorcycle at Kachankabal Rural Municipality-4. Ganesh succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in a local health facility. District Police Office, Jhapa, spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka said the motorcycle (BR-11C-3071) was travelling from Baniyani to Lodhabari when it was hit by a van (Pra-1-01-002 B 6411) coming from the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, in Parbat, 35-year-old jeep driver Sajjan Pariyar died after his vehicle (Ga 1 Jha 8029) fell approximately 30 meters off the road along the Kushma-Phalebas section near the Kaligandaki river in Madikuwa, Phalebas Municipality-4. The jeep was carrying urea fertiliser from Kusma Bazaar to Phalebas. Police Inspector Dinesh Poudel confirmed the death.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially on hilly roads, to prevent such tragedies.
