All sides must contribute to violence-free society: Minister Shrestha

Kathmandu, March 23: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Shradda Shrestha, has stressed the need for collective efforts to build a violence-free society.

Speaking at a programme organized at the Ministry on Sunday, she highlighted the importance of reducing violence against women while ensuring the rights of senior citizens and children.

The minister noted that political struggles over different periods have brought structural changes, but said a positive shift in societal attitudes towards women remains necessary.

She also shared that rehabilitation programmes for street-based and vulnerable children are being expanded. She urged all stakeholders to launch a broader social campaign against untouchability, superstition and other harmful practices.
