Spring tourist season: Pokhara–Jomsom flights resume after winter suspension

March 14, Kathmandu: Air services on the Pokhara–Jomsom route have resumed from today after a suspension of about three months during the winter season.
Private carriers, including Summit Air and Tara Air, had halted regular flights on the route due to adverse weather, the risk of snowfall and a drop in tourist arrivals to Mustang.
According to the Civil Aviation Office in Jomsom, the flights were suspended during the winter off-season when strong winds and poor visibility often make flying difficult in the Himalayan region.
With the arrival of the spring tourism season and improving weather conditions, preparations have been made to gradually resume services between Pokhara and Jomsom, a key air link for residents, pilgrims and tourists visiting the Mustang region.
