Funeral of former PM Oli’s father held in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The late Mohan Prasad Oli, father of CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, was laid to rest today at Pashupati Aryaghat. Chairman Oli lit a lamp on his father’s body as part of the last rites.

Earlier, Chairman Oli and his wife Radhika Shakya visited Nepal Korea Friendship Municipal Hospital in Madhyapur Thimi to pay tribute to the 97-year-old, who passed away this morning. Party leaders, including Central Secretary Mahesh Basnet and Central Leader Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, along with other members and local leaders, also gathered at the hospital to offer their condolences.

According to Hospital Director Dr. DK Roshan, Mohan Prasad Oli had been receiving treatment for the past six months and was brought to the hospital around 4:00 am today.
