Dhanusha, March 10 — Matrika Prasad Yadav of the Nepali Communist Party has been elected to the House of Representatives from Dhanusha 1.

According to the Election Commission of Nepal, Yadav secured 10,428 votes, defeating his closest competitor, Rampaltan Sah of the Nepali Congress, who received 9,485 votes.

Meanwhile, Ramchandra Mandal of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) garnered 9,220 votes in the election held on March 5.

The Election Commission officially announced the result on Monday after instructing the Office of the Returning Officer to publish the outcome.

Earlier, the commission had annulled the candidacy of Kishori Sah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party after determining that the candidate was listed on a blacklist.
