Around 18 percent voter turnout recorded by noon
Kathmandu, March 5: Around 18 per cent voter turnout was recorded by noon in the 2026 Nepal House of Representatives election, according to the Election Commission Nepal.
Voting began at 7 a.m. on Thursday and is continuing at polling centres across the country.
Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the commission’s system had recorded 3,163,736 votes cast nationwide by 12 noon, which is about 18 per cent of the total electorate.
He said voting was continuing smoothly and enthusiastically at most polling centres across the country.
The commission has been monitoring the polling process through its central system and field officials, the spokesperson added.
