Man Arrested for Burning UML Flag in Tulsipur
Tulsipur, Feb 20: Police have arrested a man in Tulsipur for allegedly burning a CPN UML party flag. Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohara stated that 55-year-old Buddhi Bahadur Basnet of Tulsipur-7 was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Authorities said that three individuals were involved in the flag burning, with two still at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The incident occurred after reports emerged that Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane and leader Balen Shah were scheduled to attend an event in Ghorahi, prompting their supporters to gather at Birendra Chowk in Tulsipur, Dang, and torch the UML flag.
In response, the UML staged a protest in Ghorahi later on Friday afternoon, expressing condemnation of the act.
