JSP unveils manifesto pledging inclusive socialist democratic governance

Kathmandu, Feb 13: The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has made public its election manifesto for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) polls scheduled for March 5, outlining a vision of inclusive socialist democratic governance and a people-centred welfare state.

The party has committed to building a state founded on social justice, inclusivity, equal opportunity and transparent governance. According to the manifesto, access to free and quality healthcare for all citizens will be guaranteed, with the state taking full responsibility for the establishment and management of health services.

In the education sector, the party has pledged to ensure free education from early childhood through university level. It has also promised to provide free legal aid to all citizens to strengthen access to justice and uphold the rule of law.

Among its flagship commitments, the JSP aims to reduce poverty to below 10 percent within five years, increase public investment in health and education, and raise the national literacy rate to 90 percent. The manifesto also highlights plans to eliminate gender inequality, implement environmental protection measures in line with policy and budget priorities, and ensure inclusive participation in development programmes.

Speaking at the manifesto launch, party Chairman Upendra Yadav said the party would move forward by translating its commitments into concrete action if elected.
