HoR Polls: Ballot Printing Completed for 133 Constituencies

Kathmandu, Feb 13: The Election Commission of Nepal has completed the printing of ballot papers for 133 constituencies across 63 districts in preparation for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election.

According to Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane, ballot papers have already been printed for districts including Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Bardaghat Susta Paschim (Nawalparashi), Morang, Udayapur, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahu, Syangja, Bardiya, Rukum Purba, Dang, Banke, Nawalparashi Bardaghat Susta, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Manang, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk, Kaski, Kapilvastu, Dolakha, Nuwakot and Kavrepalanchowk.

The Commission said ballot printing now remains only for 14 districts in and around the Kathmandu Valley. The remaining work is expected to be completed within the next three days.

So far, 15,371 boxes of printed ballot papers have been packed. Currently, around 1,000 boxes are being packed daily, while between 1.1 million and 1.5 million ballot papers are being printed each day.

The printing of ballot papers and other election materials has been underway at the Janak Education Materials Centre in Bhaktapur since January 30.
