‘Govinda Biyogi Journalism Award’ goes to Dr Nepal

Kathmandu: The Govinda Biyogi Journalism Award-2082 is to be conferred on Dr Jagat Nepal.

Nepal is Chief of Journalism and Mass Communications Department at Ratnarajya Laxmi Campus.

The Editors’ Society Nepal took a decision that the award for this year was being provided to Dr Nepal, according to Society’s General Secretary, Shyam Dotel.

The award was instituted in memory of the founding chair and noted journalist Govinda Biyogi.

The award carries the purse of Rs 25,000.

Similarly, journalist Chandani Hamal and columnist Rajendra Manadhar would be handed over the Govinda Biyogi Special Journalism Award.

Hamal is associated with the Gorkhapatra daily, while Manandhar at the Shukrawa Ya Tansapau, a weekly in Newari language. These awards carry the purse of Rs 15,000 each.

The awards would be presented amidst a function to be organized on January 17.
