High Court Temporarily Halts ANFA Elections
Kathmandu, Jan 12: The Patan High Court has issued a temporary order suspending the upcoming elections of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
A single bench led by Judge Kripasur Karki issued an interlocutory interim order today, directing that no election-related activities be carried out, including the submission of candidacy registration forms. The order was issued under Rule 42 of the High Court Rules, 2073, following a petition by opposition members.
ANFA had earlier scheduled the elections for February 11. The court has set January 20 for a hearing to allow both parties to present their arguments.
The petition, filed by Amit Khatri against the National Sports Council, requested the postponement of elections, arguing that the current committee still has six months remaining in its term.
