Gandaki and Koshi Provinces Sign MoU to Boost Tourism Cooperation
Gandaki, Jan 12: Gandaki and Koshi provinces have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism, improve infrastructure, enhance accessibility, develop human resources, and strengthen institutional collaboration.
The agreement was inked in Pokhara today as part of an inter-province tourism promotion programme, goodwill visit, and interaction organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Forests, and Environment of Koshi Province in partnership with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) of Gandaki Province, in line with the Koshi Province Tourism Year 2082.
The MoU was signed by Tikaram Paudel, Acting Secretary of the Ministry, and Dr. Indra Prasad Sapkota, Tourism Secretary of Koshi Province, in the presence of Gandaki Province’s Minister for Industry and Tourism Mithralal Basyal and Koshi Province’s Minister for Tourism, Forests, and Environment Bhim Parajuli.
The agreement focuses on sustainable tourism development in both provinces, outlining initiatives such as inter-provincial exchange visits for government employees and community school teachers, government-led promotion packages, and affordable tourism packages developed by the private sector.
Chairperson of NATTA Gandaki Province, Kishor Dahal, said the MoU is expected to bring mutual benefits and boost tourism prospects in both provinces.
