2,662 NC General Convention Representatives Register Support for SGC
Kathmandu, Jan 11 — A total of 2,662 general convention representatives of the Nepali Congress (NC) have registered their names in support of the Special General Convention (SGC), which commenced at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The registration process began at 9:00 am on the first day of the convention, with eight registration stalls set up by the NC faction backing the SGC. Party representatives from across the country participated in the registration.
According to Event Coordination Committee Coordinator Yubraj Pandey, 425 representatives from Koshi Province registered in favour of the SGC, followed by 446 from Madhesh Province and 432 from Bagmati Province. Similarly, 296 representatives from Gandaki Province, 398 from Lumbini Province, 134 from Karnali Province and 148 from Sudurpaschim Province recorded their support.
From the Kathmandu Valley—Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts—178 representatives registered their names, while 195 participants from sister organizations, well-wishers and liaison committees also expressed support for the SGC.
The registration process is set to resume from 8:00 am on Monday, organizers said.
