Most Terai regions to experience mist today

Kathmandu, Jan 10: Parts of the Terai are expected to remain shrouded in mist and fog until noon today, according to the Department of Meteorology.

The weather office reported partial cloudiness in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while hilly and mountainous areas are expected to remain mostly clear. The persistence of mist/fog is noted in the Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces, with light mist in a few other Terai areas.

This morning, the Terai will see reduced visibility due to fog, which may continue in some areas tonight. The Meteorology Department added that the partial influence of westerly winds and a low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal is contributing to the current weather patterns.

Hilly and mountainous regions are expected to enjoy mainly fair weather throughout the day.
