Noted newsreader Michael Chand passes away

Kathmandu, Jan 9: Renowned newsreader and journalist Michael Chand passed away on Friday morning at the age of 77.

According to family sources, Chand died at his residence in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.

Chand had a distinguished career spanning more than four decades as an English news editor and newsreader at Radio Nepal, where he earned wide recognition for his voice and professionalism.

He is survived by his wife, Bhuvan Chand—the first actress of Nepali cinema—and their three daughters.
