Foreign Minister in Bangladesh as Khaleda Zia’s funeral being held today afternoon

December 31, Kathmandu: Foreign Affairs Minister Bala Nanda Sharma is Dhaka, Bangladesh to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia.

Minister Sharma is representing the Government and people of Nepal to pay final respects to the late leader. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit underscores Nepal’s recognition of Khaleda Zia’s contributions in strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and Bangladesh during her three terms as Prime Minister. The funeral will be held in Dhaka at 2 PM on Wednesday afternoon.

Sharma is accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is scheduled to return on Thursday.
