Foreign Minister Sharma Departs for Dhaka to Attend Khaleda Zia’s Funeral

Kathmandu, Dec 31: Nepal’s Foreign Minister Bala Nanda Sharma left for Dhaka, Bangladesh, last night to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Minister Sharma is representing the Government and people of Nepal to pay final respects to the late leader. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit underscores Nepal’s recognition of Khaleda Zia’s contributions in strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and Bangladesh during her three terms as Prime Minister.

Sharma will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is scheduled to return on January 1, 2026.
