Schools Shut in Sunsari Due to Cold Wave

Dharan, Dec 31: Schools across Sunsari district have been closed for three days as a severe cold wave disrupts normal teaching and learning activities.

All local levels have announced the closure of both community and institutional schools from Wednesday to Friday. Itahari Sub-Metropolis confirmed the decision, stating that the break forms part of the winter vacation. Ramesh Kumar Sah, chief of the education section, said the temporary closure aims to protect children’s health from the harsh cold.

Schools in Inaruwa, Koshi Rural Municipality, Harinagar Ramdhuni, Duhabi, and other areas are also affected. The break will be adjusted alongside other annual holidays.

Authorities have urged parents and guardians to keep children at home and take necessary precautions to shield them from the cold wave.
