SC scraps writ petition against Sept 8-9 inquiry commission
Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has scrapped a writ petition filed against chairman and members of the inquiry commission formed on the September 8-9 Gen Z movement.
A full bench comprising justices Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Nahakul Subedi and Shreekant Paudel issued a directive order, scrapping the petition filed against chairman of the commission, Gauri Bahadur Karki, and members Bigyan Raj Sharma and Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari.
Earlier, a division bench of justices duo Hari Prasad Phuyal and Abdul Ajiz Musalman had issued a show cause order, seeking a written response.
Advocate Bipin Dhakal had lodged the petition, arguing that the commission’s chairman and members were not neutral so they could not conduct fair investigation.
Spokesperson at Supreme Court, Arjun Prasad Koirala, informed that the verdict was issued. However, the directive order would come in written in form later.
