Government ensures smooth environment for elections: Communication Minister Kharel

Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has stated that the government has created a conducive environment for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on March 5, ensuring that voters and candidates can participate without problems.

Speaking after meeting CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Gundu of Bhaktapur, Minister Kharel said the government is fully prepared and will strengthen security arrangements for the elections. He added that discussions were held with leaders of major parties, including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Nepali Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, to ensure a peaceful, fair, and fearless election environment.

Highlighting UML’s support for the elections, Minister Kharel said, “The government has addressed security challenges, and candidates and voters can participate with confidence.” He also mentioned the government is open to reconsidering the place limit imposed on UML Chairman Oli.

Minister Kharel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to do all necessary work to conduct the elections smoothly.
