Minister Kharel holds talks with CPN-UML Chair Oli as government steps up dialogue on HoR elections

Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has held a meeting with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli at the latter’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur. Minister Kharel is a member of the government’s political dialogue committee.

Earlier today, Minister Kharel met Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Maharajgunj. He is also scheduled to meet Nepali Communist Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ later today.

The government has intensified consultations with top leaders of major political parties as part of efforts to create a conducive environment for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.

At the initiative of President Ramchandra Paudel, a meeting was recently held at Sheetal Niwas involving the Prime Minister and the three party leaders.

Following that meeting, it was agreed that the Prime Minister would continue discussions with party leaders at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. Minister Kharel’s meetings are part of this ongoing dialogue process.
