NPL: Chitwan Rhinos set 177-run target for Janakpur Bolts
Kathmandu: In the opening match of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium, Chitwan Rhinos set a target of 177 runs for defending champions Janakpur Bolts.
Chitwan won the toss and batted first, scoring 176/4 in 20 overs. Openers David Malan and Arjun Saund scored half-centuries, making 80 and 52 runs respectively, and shared a 112-run partnership. Janakpur bowlers Anil Shah, Rupesh Singh, Maj Sadakat, and Jan Nicole Lofty-Eaton claimed one wicket each.
Janakpur, who have lost four consecutive games, need a win to stay in the playoff race, while Chitwan, with two wins from four matches, aim to strengthen their chances. In today’s second match, Pokhara Avengers will face Karnali Yaks at 4:00 PM.
